Well, I've graduated from physio.

I didn't get tortured today, but, after a conversation with my physio, it's looking like this might be as good as it is gonna get for me, so, the focus now has changed from rehab to goal setting and improving strength, mobility, and stamina.

The muscles in my calf are a 0/5 on their scale, so basically knackered, and because the nerve was damaged (badly compressed and moved during surgery), it needs time to recover, but, since it's been so long after my surgery, it's not looking like I'll get full use back of my foot and my toes.

HOWEVER, this is a lot better than what I was like before and after surgery, so I know I have improved. I know I am stronger, and I know for sure I am in a lot less pain than I was, so I am grateful, but, I am still a bit frustrated because I wish I was a bit further along in my recovery than I am.

I have a goal now that my physio would like me to meet, and that is to go back to Parkrun. Not to walk the whole way just yet, but, to go there and be with them, walk some of it, and then gradually build up to walking the whole distance again.

He also wants me to gradually increase the length of time I walk for, even if I take more breaks, but, gradually work up to a longer time, and also by doing that, increasing my distance and stamina as well.

It's not over, but, it was a productive session today, I did one exercise to show where I'm currently at, and then it was talking about what has happened, what hasn't happened, and what may happen.

Next appointment if I need one will be in three months, sooner if something goes haywire, but, if I keep doing the exercises I have been given, and work towards the goal we think is reachable, I should get something better out of this.
